Nyonya Valley :: Good Food, bad service..

The cute menu cover. Aww...
Just got back from lunch and I have two items on my to-do list. So I am typing this entry and trying to publish in say 15 minutes before I scramble back to work and send Mr H the stuff he requested.

This is lunch just now with Miza at Cyberview Lodge. If you turn left at the entrance of MMU, just keep going down that road, pass the traffic lights at MSC and you'll see a turn on your right. That's Cyberview Lodge. The restaurant we're reviewing today: Nyonya Valley.

I speculate that Nyonya Valley is the sister restaurant to Seri Penang in Cyber Domain and Penang Village in Alamanda, both of which I had done reviews before, and both with Miza. I am not saying their owners are related, but the menu looks and the food tastes almost the same. From the 3 nyonya restaurants stated here though, Nyonya Village now comes out as number 1. Food-wise only though.

School-holiday Destination: Genting

Genting Highlands :: We wuz here.

People who know me well know how much I love to travel. And I haven't travelled in ages. The last trip I went to was Bali last year for a conference and I've been a good girl and stayed within 100 km radius of home ever since.

It was drizzling and we were chillin'.
As a mom, I would just like to note this one trip down, mainly because the pictures that Mazlan took were awesome and, secondly, we could all use some travel tips. I am not sure if Mazlan wants to share the pictures but he'll have to put up with me because I rock his world and I didn't take any.

Sushi King: fit for a queen..!

Mazlan and Kikoman
For the longest time I had wanted to go to Sushi King. Make that since 2007 when I landed in Kuala Lumpur and the humid air hit me. But absolutely no one in my circle of friends likes Japanese food. Except for my bro, and he gets them from Carefour.

As a result, every time I passed by Sushi King I would sigh and trudge to the foodcourt. Of course no one really notices my pain. But then I met Mazlan and he flicks his hair and goes: Sushi anyone? And suddenly the sky turns turquoise.

My pictures have disappeared!! :(

Am sorry to report that I had accidentally deleted all the pictures in my smartphone. Because my phone is extraordinarily smart, it has deleted the pictures on this blog also, because, as I said, it is extraordinarily smart. As a result all of the pictures that I had taken as I went along with this blog is gone :(

I feel almost as if I have wiped the slate of my life clean and starting afresh. Again. (cause I have done it so many times before)

If you have a copy of any of the old pictures, please email them to me: shima.subari@gmail.com. Any picture. I can just re-upload them.

So sad :(

Ikea :: meatballs galore!

This was last weekends trip to Ikea. After an afternoon at the swimming pool at the Cyberjaya Community Center, with the kids choking on water so keruh you can't see two fingers poked into your goggles, Mazlan thought it was time to head back to civilization. That would be dinner at IKEA apparently.

Since I hadn't done a review for quite some time it seems (and you noticed Picasa has wiped out all my pictures from this blog -- oh well), Mazlan out of the goodness of his heart ordered the entire menu at Ikea-- even though all I ever wanted was the meatballs. Instead, I ended up with the Creamy Salmon and Fish & Chips. In retrospect though, thank goodness and alhamdulillah everyone was hungry and none of the food went to waste.

Begin review..

Tokio -- with the GBS girls

Nadia, Che' Nah, Me and Kat

I have 10 minutes before lecture and I am blogging on my phone. This was a farewell get together between the GBS girls of FOE for Dr Azura who will be moving north to a rocking university that is hopefully better than MMU in every aspect save its people. Because GBs only thrives here.

Seafood @ Morib :: time to relax

This entry is sponsored by MM.

This excursion took place last month and I had blogged it in my little phone. If I finally do publish it you are reading it now. Naturally.

Back in March there was a bike jamboree that kicked-off here and I accidentally forgot to pay one of the makcik's who works here for some services. I returned for the sole purpose of finding her, like a Jejak Kasih adventure thing, ya know, except we are not related and I owe her money.

Ben's -- Grey restaurant with food full of colour!

Don't take Ben seriously folks.

This lunch experience occurred few light-years back at Ben's, a restaurant on the 1st floor of KLCC-- tucked away behind the escalator right next to the overpriced Godiva chocolate store. For obvious reasons, Ben has always reminded me of Michael Jackson's pet mouse; the one he sang passionately about. Ben and  Jerry's ice-cream comes to mind too, readily accessible in little tubs at the Blockbuster video store right across the street from campus way back when I was slaving for my degree in some foreign country. Unfortunately, Ben was also the bear actor that killed Brad Pitt in Legends of the Fall. Now Ben has come back in the form of a restaurant to haunt me.

Cyberjaya's very own TOKIO

I should have blogged about this place ages ago, but the AES cameras planted by the roadside on my way back from work means I reach home 10 minutes later than usual; that's 50 minutes a week of valuable blog time down the drain.

Ning introduced me to this place because she thought it awesome. And I brought Nadia few weeks later because I concur! Here are the top 10 reasons why Tokio is the number 2 eatery in Cyberjaya, surpassed only by Saba' out of my loyalty to lamb kabsah not served by Tokio.

And in true Letterman style, begin drumroll...
